Three Questions for Daniel Pasquier, Managing Partner C-Matrix.

Daniel Pasquier founded C-Matrix in Geneva over 15 years ago. In our “Three questions for” column, he tells us what challenges attract him, why he founded his own agency and how he relaxes in his free time.

You founded C-Matrix in Geneva over 15 years ago. How did you get the idea to start your own company and how did you get to that point?

I think the entrepreneurial adventure is something I’ve always wanted to do. I had several years’ experience in these PR agencies. I realized that I wanted to manage customers in my own way.

What are the biggest challenges for you in running an agency?

As all entrepreneurs, we face the same challenges: how to answer our customers’ needs in terms of quality, how to find new customers, how to recruit properly? And managing the agency in terms of human resources and administration.

You were recently in India, is travelling your favourite activity or how do you switch off in your free time?

Haha thanks for your question. Travel has always been a part of my life. At the end of university, I took the train to India. 25 years later, I hadn’t seen this magnificent country again. I was impressed by the evolution of the middle class and its consequence in the development of entire neighborhoods in Mumbay. There are forests of cranes. The city is an open-air construction site. But India retains a culture of its own, notably with the caste system that remains a structuring reality.
